Creditcall earns First Data ESO status

Creditcall authorized to remotely inject First Data keys reducing deployment time and costs for merchants, independent software vendors (ISVs), independent sales organisations (ISOs) and payment facilitators (PFs).

Bristol, UK- June 13, 2017 - Creditcall, the omni-channel Payment Gateway and EMV Kernel provider, is proud to announce that it has achieved official ESO (Encryption Support Organisation) status from First Data, Visa Europe, and Visa in the United States. Not only does this status indicate that Creditcall meets or exceeds all Visa PCI PIN Security Requirements, it gives the company the immediate authorization to perform remote key injection on payment terminals used in conjunction with First Data.

The First Data ESO registration is a major milestone for any payment company due to First Data having among the most stringent PIN security standards in the industry. By meeting the rigorous requirements of First Data, Creditcall — through the use of its ChipDNAplatform — has given the majority of the market the ability reduce deployment time and costs by performing remote key injection during device initialization at the customer site rather than during a separate step in a separate facility.

In addition to the First Data ESO registration, Creditcall achieved ESO status from both Visa Europe and Visa US. Visa’s PIN Security Program requires that ESOs such as Creditcall must address certain criteria for securing and managing PINs and encryption keys. According to Visa, the PIN Security Program establishes global compliance validation requirements for PIN accepting and/or processing entities in order to establish:

  • Consistent risk-based approaches to identify Visa PIN Security Program participants

  • Common validation requirements for Visa PIN Security Program participants

Additionally, the PIN Security Program is an evolving program based on exploited vulnerabilities, emerging risks, and threats to the payment system.

“By achieving official ESO status from First Data and Visa, Creditcall continues its trend of addressing the ever-changing security needs of merchants, ISVs, ISOs, and payment facilitators,” - Jeremy Gumbley, CSO and CTO at Creditcall.

The program fits perfectly with Creditcall’s philosophy of agility and security. “By achieving official ESO status from First Data and Visa, Creditcall continues its trend of addressing the ever-changing security needs of merchants, ISVs, ISOs, and payment facilitators,” said Jeremy Gumbley, CSO and CTO at Creditcall. “Creditcall is already known for our innovative technologies, quick integrations, and 100% first-time certification track record. With these ESO registrations, we’re helping to smooth the deployment phase and give the U.S. market more efficient PIN deployment strategies.”

This announcement is the latest in a series concerning Creditcall’s security and key injection capabilities. Last year, Creditcall was audited and assessed to comply with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) TR-39 (TG-3) standard to validate proper PIN security and key management practices. The company also announced that its payment gateway was awarded with Payment Card Industry (PCI) PIN compliance. These three certifications/assessments serve as a thorough vetting process for payment gateways seeking the ability to perform remote key injection.
