Merchants can now quickly and easily change processors without costly returns and down time of their payment devices
NEW YORK, LAS VEGAS, Money20/20 (Booth #3122), October 23, 2016 – In the wake of its 20th-year-anniversary celebrations, Creditcall, the omni-channel Payment Gateway and EMV Kernel provider, today announced it now supports Remote Key Injection (RKI) for the Miura Systems M007 and M010 EMV contact and contactless chip card readers with leading U.S. processors Elavon and Global Payments, with more payment processors being added in the following months.
If a merchant wishes to accept debit transactions, their chip card readers need to be loaded with the appropriate processor PIN key. This is typically performed manually by a Key Injection Facility (KIF) in a secure room which is subject to the controls of PCI PIN and TR-39.
When a merchant decides to change their processor, their chip card readers typically need to be returned to a KIF for injection with their new processor’s PIN keys. With Creditcall’s RKI, Miura’s chip card readers can now be reinjected with new processor keys in the field instantly, removing costly returns, down time and logistics complexity.
For ISVs and integrators, RKI removes the requirement to hold stock of specific chip card readers loaded with specific processor keys. This eliminates the need for surplus inventory to buffer supply and demand peaks and troughs. RKI enables the ISV or integrator to order “blank” Miura readers that can be injected remotely upon first use.
“It is fantastic to see Creditcall leveraging these capabilities to create a truly differentiated proposition that should provide real tangible benefits for its US partners.” - Darren Shaw, Chief Product Officer at Miura Systems
“Traditional methods of key loading create both commercial and logistical challenges”, said Darren Shaw, Chief Product Officer at Miura Systems. “This is why we have developed a market leading payment platform that delivers at its core an industry certified Remote Key Injection architecture that can be built upon by our partners to deliver real added value solutions to their end users” Shaw continued. “It is fantastic to see Creditcall leveraging these capabilities to create a truly differentiated proposition that should provide real tangible benefits for its US partners.”
“We designed our RKI solution for Miura’s chip card readers to smooth out the rough edges of our partner’s supply and logistics channels,” said Jeremy Gumbley, CTO and CSO of Creditcall. “Not only does it elegantly solve the issue of inventory and the potential over stocking, it also solves a merchant issue when they want to quickly and easily switch processor. New keys can be provisioned in a matter of seconds rather than a return of the devices to base, which could extend the implementation by months.”
Creditcall’s payment environment has been audited and assessed to comply with American National Standards Institute (ANSI) TR-39 and Payment Card Industry (PCI) PIN, making the manual injection redundant. This authorizes Creditcall to provide remote key injection of processor PINs.
