Software developers can now add EMV to their point of sale (POS) software within a day using a pre-certified solution with First Data.
New York – May 9, 2017 – Creditcall, the omni-channel payment gateway and EMV Kernel provider, and ID TECH, a leading manufacturer of POS peripherals, have completed EMV certifications with First Data. This enables POS software developers and independent software vendors (ISVs) to simply and quickly add EMV by integrating Creditcall’s ChipDNA SDK for Windows and Linux and ID TECH’s Augusta EMV chip card reader available for implementation now. More processors will be added in the following weeks.
Unlike most EMV chip card readers which cost hundreds of dollars, the Augusta EMV chip card reader retails for less than $150*, making it the most economical solution on the market. ChipDNA handles all aspects of the transaction authorization and eliminates the need for developers to interface an EMV chip card reader with a processor. Thanks to the pre-certification with First Data and the ease of integration of the ChipDNA SDK, software developers and ISVs can be up and running within a day.
ID TECH has made a limited number of the Augusta EMV chip card reader available for free. ISVs can request their free development kit now.
“Our simple pre-certified EMV SDK enables developers to get Chip and Signature up and running in a couple of hours rather than months.” - Sian Bosley, VP of Business Development at Creditcall
“Creditcall and ID TECH have partnered to provide a game changing EMV solution. Creditcall’s ChipDNA SDK combined with Augusta EMV chip card reader emulates the familiar mag stripe and signature way of paying but with the added benefit of using chip rather than swipe” said Sian Bosley, VP of Business Development at Creditcall. “Our simple pre-certified EMV SDK enables developers to get Chip and Signature up and running in a couple of hours rather than months.”
“ID TECH’s partnership with Creditcall provides merchants with the seamless path to EMV that they have been waiting for. This solution provides merchants with an easy and extremely cost-effective way to begin to accept EMV transactions without changing their basic payment process” said Bill Rorick, VP of Business Development, ID TECH. “With the Augusta, the switch from magnetic transactions to chip card transactions is almost as simple as just swapping out the reader.”
